Another little picture. I have got another order to complete for my jewellery, and then I find it goes a little quiet, so time for cleaning the house-if I have to! I seem to have developed an allergy, coughing and sneezing, which I'm telling myself is NOT due to dusty fabrics, but it's very annoying as I can't get a decent nights sleep.

I don't think it is finished yet as having photographed it, the jug seems to be floating!
With school holidays just days away I feel a bit overwhelmed with expectations. I want to do a sort of timetable (sounds a bit rigid I know!) to make sense of work I need to do and what the children want to do. The ultimate aim for me is to keep the kids from too much T.V. and electronic games.
Whether I win or loose at least I can try!
Have a good evening!

Oval lady.

I wanted to show you a small picture made for a frame I got locally and gave a coat of paint.
I need to take a photo on a slightly different colour!
I have lots of people in my sketchbook, so hopefully I can bring some more to life.
Have a lovely evening everyone!

More little portraits.

A quick blog to  show you my continued work on the textile portraits.

I like the simplicity of this one.

A rather grumpy one.
I'm putting them up and may make other changes.
I need to think about how to hang them. Embroidery hoops? or flat with rings- any ideas?
I did make a banana cake but it has all been eaten! No coffee and cake then.
After all that rain, at least the flowers are growing well!
Have a good week!

Textile Portraits.

I don't know what has happened with the weather! Luckily I've been spending time inside, still enjoying 'Pinterest'.
Any of you who have visited my 'Pinterest ' boards may have gathered that I like naive work, often including figures.
For anyone who hasn't tried 'Pinterest', I would recommend it for sorting out images and ideas.
Mine has helped me focus on the things I really like.
Warning however- it is is addictive!
My recent collecting of costumed ladies has inspired more applique.
I love using some of the Moda fabrics for patchwork as they are tonally similar.
I've got to add something in the foreground.

I spoke in my last post about my bags. Here is one of them in the wonderful local shop Bittersweet.
