Dying wool, patchwork finished and home cooking.

I have managed to do a bit more dying of wool amongst other things!

Below is 'Jaquard' acid dye in yellow sun.

Quite unexpected, but this is 'Jaquard' acid dye in chartreuse.
A poster paint green!

I have finished the small hooked wallhanging- or it will hang when I finish the back!

The blue and red really sing together don't they?
A rather large work in progress actually got finished- my very basic patchwork throw.

A certain furry friend took up residence on it.

It finally found a place on the sofa to hide a multitude of muddy paws!

When I was younger a Saturday like today would be spent shopping in the main town.
I prefer these days to spend time catching up on jobs.We live in a town so popping to the shops is a speedy affair.
I have managed today to get some cooking done as well as foraging (love that word) for Elderflowers.
I didn't know they existed in a field where I go blackberrying-but I saw them this morning and in a beam of light sort of moment saw they were laden with flowers!
They are hidden under the covered bowl soaking in syrup!
I also managed to make some rolls, rockcakes and two mincemeat tarts ( scrappy but tasty!)
What is your favourite things to do at the weekend?
Speaking of which have a good weekend!
Bye for now.

  1. Hello Felicity, What is sweeter than bake goods cooling on a kitchen counter . . . oh maybe, finishing a beautiful cozy quilt just in time for a puppy dog's nap :) Your post is so comforting . . . you have created a home that is warm, cozy and wonderfully homemade:)
    I love it!
    Your blogging sister,
    Connie :)
